A l\u2019entr\u00e9e de Nuwara Eliya, on est s\u00e9duit par la magie des paysages vari\u00e9s, et par les plantations de th\u00e9 au c\u0153ur de la ville. Dans certaines plantations, on peut d\u00e9couvrir la fabrication du th\u00e9 dans les usines, et acheter une grande vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de bons th\u00e9s. Connue \u00e9galement pour son grand lac artificiel et ses belles maisons coloniales, Nuwara Eliya est un centre de r\u00e9sidence aussi bien des pr\u00e9sidents du pays et internationaux que des touristes. Ceux-ci y viennent pour s\u00e9journer au sein de la nature, visiter les plantations de th\u00e9s et les rizi\u00e8res, et escalader le pic d\u2019Adamou Sri Prada, l\u2019une des plus hautes entour\u00e9 d\u2019une belle verdure. Des fleurs, des lierres, des oiseaux, des statues de dieux et des peintures s\u00e9culaires l\u2019embellissent et d\u00e9corent son int\u00e9rieur. Outre son atmosph\u00e8re calme, il attire les voyageurs par sa beaut\u00e9 irr\u00e9sistible. Dans le temps, deux hauts piliers imposants accueillaient les croyants et les visiteurs. Aujourd\u2019hui, ces piliers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9truits et r\u00e9duits \u00e0 la moiti\u00e9 de leur hauteur initiale.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_13280\" lion\u00bb<\/h3>\n<p>Site arch\u00e9ologique majeur au Sri Lanka, Sigiriya abrite le palais du roi Kassyapa, forteresse pr\u00e9historique nich\u00e9e dans les for\u00eats de Matale. Class\u00e9e au patrimoine mondial de l\u2019humanit\u00e9 par l\u2019Unesco, cette forteresse est de nos jours une construction en ruine. De la statue g\u00e9ante de lion qui gardait jadis l\u2019entr\u00e9e du palais, il ne reste plus que les imposantes pattes. Les visiteurs sont \u00e9blouis par les majestueuses fresques anciennes \u00e9voquant les caves d\u2019Ajanta en Inde, les graffitis sur les murs, la grande statue d\u2019un Bouddha couch\u00e9 datant du IIe si\u00e8cle avant J.-C., ainsi que les nombreux jets d\u2019eau en harmonie avec le d\u00e9cor naturel. Plus qu\u2019un monument, la forteresse de Kassyapa compte parmi les merveilles du Sri Lanka. Dans la pr\u00e9histoire, elle \u00e9tait un refuge en pierre enfoui dans la montagne avec des caves taill\u00e9es et d\u00e9cor\u00e9es par des fervents de
