Le professeur Ghassan Skaf, chef du d\u00e9partement de neurochirurgie \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Am\u00e9ricaine de Beyrouth, \u00e9tait le conf\u00e9rencier invit\u00e9 \u00e0 la r\u00e9union historique organis\u00e9e par la fondation Aita, \u00e0 Charleston dans la Virginie de l\u2019Ouest et pr\u00e9sid\u00e9e par le R\u00e9v\u00e9rend Joseph Primate de l\u2019archidioc\u00e8se orthodoxe d\u2019Antioche d\u2019Am\u00e9rique du Nord. C\u2019est devant une assembl\u00e9e de plus de 500 personnes, venues des diff\u00e9rentes villes des Etats-Unis et du Canada, que le professeur Skaf a annonc\u00e9 la d\u00e9cision prise par le patriarche Jean X, d\u2019entamer le processus d\u2019\u00e9tablissement de \u00abLa Fondation mondiale orthodoxe d\u2019Antioche\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Le professeur Skaf a entam\u00e9 son allocution en exprimant sa gratitude profonde envers les Etats-Unis qui lui ont donn\u00e9 l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de devenir un neurochirurgien. Il a notamment soulign\u00e9 que nos vies, \u00e0 l\u2019instar des branches d\u2019un arbre, vont dans diff\u00e9rentes directions, mais nos racines gardent leur ancrage profond et demeurent les m\u00eames. Professeur Skaf a ajout\u00e9, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 dit une fois que \u00abl\u2019Est et L\u2019Ouest ne sont pas faits pour se rencontrer\u00bb, mais l\u2019int\u00e9gration des talents et de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience missionnaire et administrative d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e de l\u2019archidioc\u00e8se nord-am\u00e9ricain avec l\u2019h\u00e9ritage monastique et spirituel de l\u2019Est peut produire des merveilles.<\/p>\n
