Il explore la particularit\u00e9 de mon travail qui consiste \u00e0 construire \u00e0 partir de la destruction caus\u00e9e par le feu. Avec Bruno Cor\u00e0, mon conservateur, nous nous sommes particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ress\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e d\u2019une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie \u00e9manant du chaos, faite de traces lin\u00e9aires de fum\u00e9e et de plis de papier br\u00fbl\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Mais \u00abBuilding with Fire\u00bb \u00e9voque \u00e9galement l\u2019ancien b\u00e2timent du quotidien L\u2019Orient-Le Jour o\u00f9 je pr\u00e9sente mon exposition, fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 par les feux de 15 ans de guerre civile et qui, malgr\u00e9 cela, est aujourd\u2019hui toujours debout et toujours capable d\u2019accueillir les visiteurs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>2- Pourquoi avez-vous choisi l&rsquo;ancien b\u00e2timent du quotidien l&rsquo;Orient-Le Jour aux Souks de Beyrouth pour pr\u00e9senter vos \u0153uvres?<\/em><\/strong>J&rsquo;ai choisi cet \u00e9difice pour le lien \u00e9vident qui l\u2019unit \u00e0 mon travail. Je l\u2019ai choisi, en partie parce que son aspect r\u00e9sonne puissamment avec mes peintures: ses murs en ruine, ses infiltrations d\u2019eau ou m\u00eame les trous de balles qui cr\u00e9ent des constellations grav\u00e9es dans la pierre.<\/p>\n<p>Ce b\u00e2timent est aussi pour moi un symbole tr\u00e8s fort de Beyrouth, une ville en perp\u00e9tuelle destruction et reconstruction. Il s\u2019agit non seulement de l&rsquo;ancien si\u00e8ge de l&rsquo;Orient-Le Jour, l&rsquo;un des journaux francophones les plus influents du pays, mais aussi d\u2019un \u00e9difice qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 occup\u00e9 pendant la guerre civile et a \u00e9t\u00e9 la seule structure \u00e9pargn\u00e9e dans la r\u00e9gion des Souks de Beyrouth, alors que tout le reste a \u00e9t\u00e9 bombard\u00e9. Toutes sortes de messages d&rsquo;amour ou de d\u00e9sespoir sontgrav\u00e9s sur ses murs int\u00e9rieurs et ext\u00e9rieurs. Enfin, il s\u2019agit de l\u2019un des rares exemples d\u2019architecture du XIX<sup>e<\/sup> si\u00e8cle toujours existants au Liban. Sa fa\u00e7ade devrait \u00eatre class\u00e9e sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l&rsquo;Unesco dans les ann\u00e9es \u00e0 venir.<\/p>\n<p>Je voulais \u00e9galementexposer mes \u0153uvres dans la crypte de l&rsquo;\u00e9glise Saint-Joseph, apr\u00e8s avoir assist\u00e9 \u00e0 une exposition sur le g\u00e9nocide arm\u00e9nien il y a quelques ann\u00e9es. Je pensais que cela cr\u00e9erait une extension plus intime et spirituelle de mon exposition.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>3- Vous \u00eates un artiste dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;une imagination universelle complexe, multinationale due \u00e0 vos appartenances multiples, arm\u00e9nienne, libanaise et belge, comment cela se refl\u00e8te-t-il dans vos \u0153uvres?<\/em><\/strong>Je pense que le g\u00e9nocide arm\u00e9nien et, les guerres civiles qui ont \u00e9clat\u00e9 au Liban et en Syrie ont eu un impact important sur mon h\u00e9ritage oriental. La guerre, l&rsquo;exil et la destruction qui m&rsquo;ont accompagn\u00e9 tout au long de ma vie m&rsquo;ont sans aucun doute influenc\u00e9 inconsciemment dans mon choix de peindre avec le feu. Cependant mes exp\u00e9riences artistiques refl\u00e8tent cependant davantage une approche acquise en Europe, qui suit l&rsquo;histoire de l&rsquo;art occidental et des avant-gardes.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>4- Vous \u00eates peintre et sculpteur, cette exposition comprend-elle des \u0153uvres sculpturales? <\/em><\/strong>Pour cette exposition, je pr\u00e9senterai
