It is with these words that the Swiss Ambassador to Lebanon François Barras and the member of the Grand Council and Mayor of Montreux Laurent Wehrli, who came especially from Switzerland, crowned their speeches during a festive lunch held on a Sunday, on the flowered terraces of the Auberge Le Valais in Faraya-Chabrouh. A Baraka locality Faraya-Chabrouh, promised to a bright future God willing, since it will become a representative Swiss village in Lebanon! A successful partnership between Montreux and Faraya was officially announced at the microphone by the president of City Council of Faraya Nidal Khalil and the deputy mayor of Montreux, happy to make his third trip to Lebanon and who promised to arrange according to the Swiss model, the Faraya ski slopes and to conduct an installation of signals up to date in the region. «This partnership, said MP Wehrli, we talk about it since four years, through late Georges Bteiche who opened a restaurant: «The Paradise» in Montreux and who spoke with all his heart of his beautiful village, Faraya. Today, contacts have intensified and this partnership became a reality. We will work together, install Swiss materials, resources and our expertise at the service of Faraya-Chabrouh».

This touristic «good news» filled our hearts with warmth, it created enthusiasm between the 300 guests who attended this wonderful rustic day, organized by the Club of Switzerland’s Friends chaired by Astrid Fischer, in partnership with the Municipality of Faraya, celebrating the 724th anniversary of Switzerland in Faraya-Chabrouh. The program began with a joyful bicycle ride tour and continued with a typical Swiss lunch at Auberge Le Valais, which was animated by Macadam Jazz Band concert from Montreux in the presence of his deputy mayor, who came directly from the Beirut airport accompanied by the cultural attaché of the Swiss Embassy, ​​Michel Abou Khalil.
