What about your studies and your early career in the world of dance and choreography?

I completed a double major: I studied interior architecture and photography, with the hope of creating sets for films and music videos.

Dancing started as a simple pastime, then led me to the Caracalla Theatre and the Rahbani Theatre, before taking me to choreograph for the legend Andrea Bocelli and for numerous television shows such as “Celebrity Duets.”

Did you work in fashion field?

I have always been fascinated by beauty, whether it is fashion, photography, or even beautiful interior design.

I never formally studied fashion, but it has always been a part of everything I have undertaken.

How did you get into directing music videos?

Being a dancer first and then a choreographer gave me the opportunity to be present on many film sets, where I discovered my passion for cinema. I then chose to study photography to understand the image, the light, and the history of the seventh art, hoping to one day direct my first film.

What was your first film? Who was the first person to trust you?

My first music video was for Dalida Khalil. We had the opportunity to collaborate on Celebrity Duets and, when she wanted to create a dance clip, she chose me.

What does the Murex d’Or Award represent to you?
In your speech, you emphasized the importance of image . What did you mean?

The “Murex d’Or” is a trophy I grew up with, which I watched for a long time, admiring my idols receiving it. Today, getting it in turn provides me with a true feeling of accomplishment.

When I spoke of “the image” in my speech, I meant it metaphorically: the image of the human being, and therefore that of a country, and the way we transmit it to the rest of the world. This is the image we want to reflect: an image of culture, civilization, and peace.

Today you have several music videos with singing celebrities in your portfolio. Tell us about this journey.

Today, after nearly five years of directing music videos, I have a portfolio of over sixteen films, alongside big names in the industry. It fills me with joy to see that every project I lead opens the door to a new artist: a true snowball effect.

How did your collaboration with the star Najwa Karam begin?

I have always admired Najwa Karam; she is a true icon.

She is surrounded by an exceptional team, always on the lookout for market trends. They contacted me to ask for a moodboard for a song, and of course, I was delighted to create for an artist of such magnitude.

From my very first meeting with Najwa, a true synergy was established, nourished by a shared love for innovation

Where does your inspiration come from, the music, the song lyrics?

My inspiration first comes from the music itself, as it dictates the rhythm to adopt during the shoot.

Then, of course, come the lyrics, and especially the artist himself, as well as the message I wish to have him convey through the video.

You are brilliant and innovative, what new element do you think you have brought to the making of music videos?

What has led to my success today is my difference: my way of hearing the music and bringing it to life. Even when a clip doesn’t contain choreography, I make sure to choreograph the camera itself.

The world of dance has taught me a lot: synchronization, rhythm, discipline, and especially respect for the human body.

You are young, what is your dream, where do you want to go?

My dream, like that of every Lebanese filmmaker, is to achieve accomplishments beyond the borders of the Middle East and to be able to collaborate with the world’s greatest artists, as a Lebanese director.
