«I hope that my production will be available around the world.»

Why did you choose to manufacture clothes for children? I followed fashion design classes at Esmod when I got pregnant with my first child. I had lots of ideas in mind, pushed by the desire to dress my daughter in a different way from others, according to my inspiration and possibilities. It is in this spirit that I launched my graduation project «Les petites bêtises» which was highly appreciated by the jury and for which I received the «Coup de Cœur» prize. Also, I was surprised to find a real gap in the market for children’s clothes, in terms of style, quality and price.

Since when do you exercise this talent? After graduating in 2005 with a degree in Business and Management from St. Joseph University, I worked in fashion design for fashion magazines in Lebanon. Three years later, I registered at Esmod Beirut to study fashion design and modeling. In 2014, I attended a special course of fabric and textile at the London College of Fashion in London. And since a year, I completely dedicate myself to my brand «Les Petites Bêtises»

Do you participate in exhibitions? Exhibitions are an integral part of my plan of action. I regularly participate in exhibitions held in Lebanon, including the famous Beirut Designers’ Week, Gata Events and Promotions in Zaitunay Bay, Afkart in Faraya, Sista Brown’s pop up store in Beirut and Mama Brown’s in London.

Tell us about your creations … My creations are fun and practical, to the taste of children. Choosing a quality fabric is essential for me. I seek from all over the world. Be it cotton, silk or viscose, it must be beautiful, soft and comfortable for children. From there, I proceed to the beautiful and elegant mix between colors and prints while emphasizing the little details that fascinate me in colors such as tassels, beads, etc. In addition, I wish to state that «Les petites bêtises» is a proud Lebanese production.

How would you develop your business? My business has witnessed a big boost thanks to exhibitions. Currently I plan to expand my business to sell online, the e-commerce. So my production will be accessible and available to the 4 corners of the planet. For now, the complete collection is already available on our site www.Mysouk.com, and soon in some shops in Lebanon.
