It was in the picturesque setting of Maarab in Keserwan that the chief of the Lebanese Forces Dr. Samir Geagea received members of the council of the Lebanese Press Order chaired by Aouni Kaaki. Very charismatic, he reserved a warm welcome to the members of the delegation and answered all their questions. Several important points were noted, including:

For Dr. Samir Geagea, it is now that the real application of the Taif agreement begins.

«Electing a President of the Republic was a priority. And President General Michel Aoun is a man of decision.»

«We want the President of the Republic and the head of the government to exercise the prerogatives defined by the Constitution. And nothing more.»

«The agreement with the Free Patriotic Movement CPL is the result of a carefully considered decision. Moreover, it has enabled us to see that what unites us is more important than what separates us.»

«We hope that President Nabih Berri will be the 4th pole of the coalition taking shape between the Future, the CPL and the FL.»

«As for the Druze and their leader Walid Jumblatt, they embody the essence of Lebanese existence.»

«We will closely monitor the oil issue because it is an important national natural resource.»
